I have always been someone who values a good night’s sleep. But it wasn’t until I struggled with mental health issues that I truly came to understand the link between sleep and mental health.

During a challenging time in my life, I found myself struggling with sleep problems. I would lay awake at night, my mind racing with worry and anxiety. And when I did eventually fall asleep, my sleep was often restless and disturbed. I began to notice that my mood and overall well-being were suffering due to my poor sleep.

It was at this point that I realized the importance of addressing my sleep problems to improve my mental health. I began implementing good sleep hygiene practices, such as establishing a consistent sleep schedule, creating a relaxing bedtime routine, and reducing screen exposure before bedtime. I also spoke with my healthcare provider about my sleep issues and any medications or medical conditions that might affect my sleep.

As I worked to improve my sleep quality, I noticed a marked improvement in my mood and overall well-being. I learned firsthand the strong connection between sleep and mental health and the importance of addressing sleep problems to maintain good mental health.

I am sharing with you some steps that have been helpful for me in improving my sleep and overall mental health.
