Once upon a time, there was a big, busy city called Busytown. Busytown was a bustling place, with lots of people and machines doing all sorts of different things. But as Busytown got more extensive and dynamic, it became harder and harder for everyone to work together.
One day, the mayor of Busytown had an idea. He said, “I know! Let’s break all the tasks that need to be done in Busytown into smaller, simpler tasks. We can have different people or machines do each of these smaller tasks, and they can work together to get everything done.”
So that’s what they did. They broke all the big, complex tasks into smaller, more straightforward tasks, giving each task to a different person or machine. For example, they had one person who was good at fixing things, and they showed that person the job of fixing anything that needed fixing in Busytown. They had another person who was good at painting things, and they gave that person the job of painting anything that needed painting in Busytown. And they had another person who was good at cleaning items, and they showed that person the job of cleaning anything that needed washing in…
